Neurotoxin Injections

Neurotoxin which are wrinkle relaxers, help relax facial muscles which results in diminished fine lines and wrinkles. Neurotoxin is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

Treatment areas include:

  • – Forehead Wrinkles
  • – Crow’s Feet
  • – Frown Lines
  • – Bunny Lines
  • – Smoker’s Lines
  • – Marionette Lines and Mouth Corners
  • – Neck Bands or Cords
  • – Sagging Eyebrows

Neurotoxin injections are most commonly known for their successful use in cosmetic therapies.

Neurotoxin injections were approved to treat strabismus (crossed eyes), blepharospasm (spasm of the eyelids) and cervical dystonia (muscle contractions in the neck).

The FDA approved it to be used for relaxing frown lines in the glabella area between the eyes on the forehead.

Neurotoxin injections reduce facial lines and wrinkles formed from the aging process and by hyper-functional muscles. They can also be used to treat excessive sweating.

Neurotoxins are used in very small amounts for medical treatments and are not intended to spread throughout the body.

How Long Do The Results Last?

The results of all the neurotoxins are temporary. Over time, the injected neurotoxin wears off, and the muscles go back to their regular communication with the nerves. This means that treated wrinkles and lines gradually re-appear.

If you continue injecting every several months, your muscles may get used to being inactive, so the wrinkles become less severe over time.
